DIMITRI ZAFIRIOU was born in Thessaloniki in 1981. He studied Pedagogy at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece with speciality in art books and literature. Along with his studies, he worked as an assistant next to the painter and academic professor Dr Kostantinos Tselios. After completing his studies in Thessaloniki he moves to Athens in order to study fashion design. At the same time he works in workshops/atelier of Greek designers, as well as in the "Le Showroom" in Paris. In May 2008, he participates in a competition for new talents The 7th Hellenic Fashion Week and gains the first award. As being one of best new designers of Europe, the Create Europe Fashion Show invites him to Berlin, in October 2008, to present his collection entitled Futuristic Queens. Since then he has presented his collections at Fashion Week Athens ( LE DINER SURREALISTE a/w 2011-12, CAPSULE COLLECTION, a/w 2010-11, MEXIGLAM s/s 2011 , FUTURISTIC QUEENS a/w 2009-10 ) and at DoitEco Athens 2014. He collaborates with talented art directors for the films Capsule Collection(October 2010) and Le Diner Surrealiste (March 2011) . Designing theatrical costumes for severe plays, lead him to many theatrical collaborations that are continued up today. In October 2011 he participated in the ASVOFF festival (A Shaded View On Fashion Film) at Centre Pompidou, Paris with the film Le Diner Surrealiste.

Hes currently involved in a clothes-jewelry design project inspired by Greek traditional costumes (WILD BOARS). The theoretical background of this work is the basis for his MA course under the title Folklore and Culture.
